On September 24, 2020, due to COVID 19 cross-border traveling restrictions, the Balkan Enforcement Initiative Council held its first regular online meeting.
Statutory representatives of the Western Balkan enforcement Chambers discussed the impact of the still ongoing pandemic with respect to judgment enforcement proceedings and the work of self-employed judicial officers in their jurisdictions. Considering the current situation, the Council unanimously resolved to relocate all of the Balkan Initiative’s activities in 2020, mandatory by its Memorandum of Cooperation, to an online format.
At the same time, the BEI Council expressed its firm commitment to the continuance of its usual line of work, adjusting it to somewhat altered circumstances.
The BEI Council finished its first online regular meeting with two operative resolutions: first, the BEI dedicates itself to organize the 2020 Annual Balkan Enforcement Conference in the last quarter of the year in an online format, and second, a standard BEI Council meeting in person shall be arranged in Spring 2021.
The following online BEI Council meeting is scheduled for October 2020.
